embracing accusation

i'm not usually one to post lyrics of a song.. maybe a line or two here and there. but this song is put together by the last line - just quoting a few lines wouldn't sum it up, really. a friend of mine recently reminded me that while satan sickly delights in preying on calloused hearts and defiant souls, we serve a God who is much more powerful and can penetrate even the hardest of hearts. since then, this shane and shane song has been in the front of my mind...

embracing accusation

father of lies, coming to steal kill and destroy
all my hopes of being good enough
i hear him saying, "cursed are the ones who can't abide"

he's right, hallelujah, he's right
the devil is preaching the song of the redeemed -
that i am cursed and gone astray
i cannot gain salvation
embracing accusation

could the father of lies be telling the truth of
God to me tonight?
that if the penalty of sin is death, then death is mine
i hear him saying, "cursed on the ones who can't abide"

he's right, hallelujah, he's right
the devil is preaching the song of the redeemed -
that i am cursed and gone astray
i cannot gain salvation
---- oh, the devil's singing over me an age old song
that i am cursed and gone astray
singing the first verse so conveniently over me,
he's forgotten the refrain:
JESUS SAVES!

summer fun

nothing too spontaneous/exciting has been going on lately. but one thing i can always count on - luke is growing! he's become crazily attached to heath.. he gets upset when heath leaves and loves for him to come home. when he's home, luke is always in his shadow and even whines on the other side of the shower door hoping i'll throw him (not literally, don't worry!) in there, too.

he likes swimming lessons! not exactly the water temp he's used to though :)

this is the cutie i get to rock and snuggle with every night!

more applesauce falls in the front of his diaper than in his mouth, i think.

luke and his prospective future girlfriend, gracyn!

this is what i'd call a grandparent trap - ha! luke likes to climb on on the hot tub.

he really is getting more hair, but this picture doesn't exactly represent that....

haha - swimming is much more fun with daddy.

rain, rain.. you can stay!

what a blessing this rain has been! we've been able to get away and do some fun stuff. we just got back from ft. worth, and we had a really good time. keeton went with us, and it was more of a treat for us than her, i think, because she was so much help with luke. she's my designated travel buddy!
we got to go to the ft. worth zoo, the nrh2o waterpark, and to lake brownwood on our way back home.

keeton & luke on our way

haha... i went with it

this was what luke did for the majority of the zoo

keeton had fun!

luke was kinda spooked by the turtle :)

he did wake up for part of it!

...and slept again at the waterpark!

he had too much fun.. it was perfect!

haha.. and he's learned to pick his nose.

ice cream with daddy after a long day!

this is where we camped - pretty!

this is what we came home to last night... on a&m lane!
