lake weekend in may (not typical for us!)

this weekend, we went the the lake (alan henry).. we didn't get on the water because it was too windy, and the lake was rough. instead, we just hung out on the porch with friends and family. luke got frustrated from not being able to walk yet - it's about time he get motivated! when we came home, he started really using an ancient walker we borrowed from the kauffman's. i laughed until i cried watching him figure it out (video below).. which lead to sad tears over how fast this past year has gone by!

so i've decided to try this blogging thing.. mainly because i've experienced how fast life goes and how precious the memories become with kids. for those who might find my life interesting enough to read about, i'll share some of the basics about my life!

first off, i'm married to heath.. we're going on 3 years now. he's a cotton farmer - a career established generations ago in his family. we love the Lord. we were blessed last year with our son, luke, and he's the light of our lives. i graduated last may with a degree in nutrition.. i don't technically "use" it because i'm a "housewife", but i practice the basics of my degree daily. i'm passionate about food & nutrition.. i'm almost obsessed with food preparation, sanitation, and composition. in my spare time, i used to read, cook, workout, ride on the tractor with heath, work in the yard, shop, and take road trips. now, in my spare time....... wait, spare time? what's that? ha :) now, i live for nap times so that i can hang up a load of clothes without a clinger on my leg.

any blogging experts out there with advice on this thing, feel free to inform me :)
